This helmet was designed to continue the same visual identity we created for Paul Simmerson’s Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport. The car livery was based on red and blue Super Chrome Satin Hexis vinyls with black racing graphics, so the main challenge was to translate that look onto a much smaller and more complex surface — the helmet.

We did not want the helmet to feel like a separate design. It had to belong to the same project as the Porsche, but at the same time work as a strong personal element of the driver’s image.

The design follows a similar colour direction to the car: red, blue and black, with a metallic satin-inspired visual effect. However, unlike the car wrap, the helmet was created as a custom painted helmet, not vinyl. That meant the reflections, transitions and graphic details had to be interpreted through paintwork, while still keeping the same premium racing character as the Porsche livery.

A key part of the design was keeping the carbon base visible. This helped the helmet feel more technical and motorsport-focused, while also giving the red and blue sections more depth. The black racing graphics connect the helmet directly with the full vehicle wrap design and keep the whole look aggressive, but controlled.

The shape of a helmet is very different from a car body, so the graphics had to be adjusted carefully. The layout needed to work from the front, side, rear and top, while still feeling fast, clean and readable. Every angle had to carry the same energy as the Porsche project — dynamic, sharp and precise.

This project shows how a car livery can be extended into a complete driver identity. The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport and the STILO GT5 helmet were designed to speak the same visual language, connecting the car, driver and racing programme into one coherent motorsport branding direction.

Car. Helmet. Driver identity.
One consistent racing style.
