Custom rally helmet design created for Ott Tänak, WRC World Rally Champion, for Rally Estonia.
A rally on home soil always deserves something special- especially when it is connected with a driver of this level. For this project, we created a custom helmet design for Ott Tänak, WRC World Rally Champion, prepared specifically for Rally Estonia and built around a fresh visual direction in motorsport helmet graphics.
The goal was to move away from a standard racing helmet look and create something more distinctive, expressive and modern. The concept was based on an urban-inspired graphic style, combining sharp shapes, dynamic movement and strong visual contrast to give the helmet a unique identity.
In rally, a helmet is much more than protective equipment. It is one of the most personal elements of a driver’s image — visible inside the car, in onboard cameras, promotional photography, service park moments and fan communication. That is why the design had to feel individual, recognizable and connected with the atmosphere of a special rally event.
The graphic direction was created to match the energy of Rally Estonia: fast, raw and emotional, but still clean enough to work as a professional motorsport helmet design. The composition uses layered graphics and dynamic details to create speed and depth across the curved helmet surface.
This project shows how custom helmet design can become a strong part of a driver’s motorsport identity — not only through colours and shapes, but through a complete visual idea built around the driver, the event and the emotion of rallying.
